Chef in Residence Weekend November 4 – 6, 2016!

Save the date for the inaugural Chef in Residence Weekend November 4 – 6, 2016 at The Oakwood Inn! Bill and Bridget Johnson have invited an accomplished Executive Chef to educate and entertain guests during this getaway weekend!

The two-day foodie delight will include a Friday night welcome reception, 3 cooking classes during the weekend and a lavish four-course dinner. The Oakwood Inn will host all guests in their large, comfortable guestrooms, and will provide their signature homemade breakfasts featuring vintage family recipes on Saturday and Sunday, and a soup and salad lunch buffet on Saturday.

The cost for the weekend per person will be $389 plus tax and includes all meals listed above, as well as three cooking classes and two nights at The Oakwood Inn.

The featured chef will be announced Tuesday, September 13. Reservations open Wednesday, September 14 and space is limited.

Opening Weekend

Join us for Opening Weekend, May 20, 2016!

Bill and Bridget Johnson will officially open The Oakwood Inn Friday, May 20 at 4 p.m. with beverages and treats on the lemonade porch. Guests are invited to roast marshmallows at the evening bonfire at 8 p.m.

Saturday morning will feature a gourmet continental breakfast with vintage family recipes. Beverages and treats will again be served in the afternoon on the lemonade porch. The day will close with an evening bonfire at 8 p.m.

Sunday morning’s breakfast feature is Bill’s Sausage Gravy and Buttermilk Biscuits. All guests receive an extended checkout to 1 p.m.

4th of July

Join Innkeepers Bill and Bridget Johnson in celebrating a traditional 4th of July at The Oakwood Inn, July 1 – 4, 2016.

In addition to The Oakwood’s gourmet continental breakfast featuring vintage family recipes, the Johnsons are planning afternoon beverages and treats and evening bonfires throughout the holiday weekend.

Look for The Oakwood to be decorated in red, white and blue for its first 4th of July at the Okoboji Lakes Area!
